The sustain algorithm is an odd one. It can be configured as a sustainer or an infinite reverb. I think I have only used it in the sustainer mode and need to try it in infinite. As a sustainer it only sustains the notes as you play them and once you move to another chord or note it cuts out, this could just be user error, but it wasn’t something I explored further. Echo is more of a reverb with a bit of delay, which could be useful to make a sound even vaster. It’s again not an algorithm I’ve spent much time with. Hall – The lush, open sound of a concert hall, now with adjustable modulation depth for achieving deep modulated tones. However, Neunaber's flagship W3T reverb mode has been refined too, delivering asmoother and more three-dimensional sound. Now with adjustable pre-delay, it enhances what you play without covering it.

Detune – Adds a detuned double of the dry signal with reverb, now with true blend control between detune and detuned reverb. The Immerse Mk II represents the very best in pedal reverberation — with studio-quality algorithms, high-fidelity circuitry, heavy-duty components and construction — all in a small footprint. The Mk II is a monumental step forward and features completely-redesigned circuitry and upgraded algorithms. Neunaber make pedals for the ambient guitarist. Their range of shimmers, verbs, and modulation are all created using digitalalgorithms but with the quality you would expect out of an all analogue circuit. The Immerse Reverberator is a multitype reverb pedal that covers everything from the subtle to the insane. The +detune mode is fun too. You have to crank the level significantly to bring the effect to the fore. But once you do, the almost queasy, pitch-shifting effect becomes a cool melodic tool. The only bummer is that you cannot control the intensity of the pitch shift.

FEATURES Mono and stereo inputs and outputs, buffered bypass, powered by 9V mains supply only (not supplied) There are numerous tones on this standard size stomp box. Wet (a signature Neunaber tone), Hall, Plate, Spring, Shimmer (a), Shimmer (b), Reverb + Echo (delay), and Reverb + Detune (chorus like). All of these are top quality tones. I originally fell in love with Neunaber when a friend loaned me the Wet Stereo V2 and a Strymon Blue Sky. I played the Strymon for about a half hour and then I plugged in the Wet and played it for the rest of the weekend. I certainly think Strymon is top quality but Neunaber is really something special… something unlike anything else I’ve ever played. W3T (Wet version 3) — exclusive to the Mk II, our new flagship reverb is smoother and more three-dimensional sounding than ever before. Now with adjustable pre-delay, it enhances what you play without covering it. Detune – Adds a detuned double of the dry signal with reverb. The blend control adjusts the amount of detune vs. detuned reverb. Detune is a very 80’s chorus-y vibe. Fortunately for me, I’m fine with that. A lot of people don’t care much for chorus but this is subtler than most. It is really more of the wet signal that is altered and your dry stays more intact than most chorus pedals which, to me, makes it more useful.Hall – The lush, open sound of a concert hall with adjustable modulation depth for achieving deep modulated tones. Not to mention that each of these effects also has a control knob that changes use depending on the type of verb. For hall sounds it turns in to a modulate option while on plate it turns in to a pre delay. Don't worry you won't have to memorise this as it is right on the pedal for ease of use. Hall– The lush, open sound of a concert hall, now with adjustable modulation depth for achieving deep modulated tones. Plenty, sounds fantastic, loads of options without being too much, easy to configure, compact, not too power hungry at 80mA. Stereo, top quality parts.

The obvious advantage of this is that you have many different sounds living inside the unit at once and flit between them with the twist of a rotary switch, rather than having to ask your PC for help; the two disadvantages are that you lose the near-infinite tweakability of software, and that the control layout becomes mighty crowded. There’s no appreciable difference in price between this and an Expanse box. Other misc features are: Stereo in and out, Kill Dry Switch (externally accessible), Trails Switch (externally accessible). The Kill Dry is much more helpful than I anticipated. While it does have more practical uses for how you wire up your rig, I use it mainly to shape my reverb tone. The fact that this is external is brilliant. There are no favorite switches or taps and this will never plug into your PC for updates like their Expanse series. Every part of the Immerse Reverberator has been carefully thought out and designed. From the software used to run it to the amazing quality of the dacs and even the dry analogue passthrough for zero latency. You will not believe what a step up this pedal is from most reverbs until you plug it in and hear how it sounds. Negatives: no presets, it’s on the pricey side especially when you consider that it doesn’t have presets and a lot of reverbs in this price range have them. An option for a favourites switch like strymon have would be nice even if it meant the pedal was wider or taller as it’s already very compact. This is quite a minor gripe, but hopefully something that might be remedied in a later version. With 8 richer reverbs and a Mix knob that goes 100% wet, the Immerse Mk II is our best-sounding reverberator to date. Delivering the same no-nonsense flexibility as its predecessor, it’s more user-friendly than ever before.Echo is a blending type delay. You can control how much delay you want in your signal or how much reverb. It’s more of an either or while blending between the two. To be honest, the delay was frustrating at first because it sounded better than my other delay pedals. What a good problem to have though. Like their entire range,Neunaber's Immerse MkII is aimed particularly at contemporary and experimental guitar players. This means that apart from its class-leading sounds, the unit can also be seamlessly integrated into your rig.
