I get dry skin during the winter which can look flaky when applying makeup so I use the exfoliating side of the makeup eraser before putting on my makeup. Rubbing and tugging – If your make-up is particularly stubborn, it might not come off without rubbing and tugging. I appreciate your comments/review but it’s slightly misleading when you’re placing links in the comment leading to the makeup eraser site. I’ve been using oil cleansers for a while now when removing my makeup, but I can never avoid getting them into my eye.

You have to really scrub your skin and tug at it quite a bit to get your makeup removed especially the makeup on your eyes. The Washing: as a nurse and per a dermatologist the cloth actually does not harbor or grow bacteria. I can’t see myself doing a load of laundry every single day because I need to wash my Makeup Eraser. Why go through the trouble of adding another step–a few steps, actually, if you consider having to wash the towel after each use and popping it in the laundry weekly.The first time you use the Makeup Eraser it is suggested to throw it in your washing machine for a cleaning.

MakeUp Eraser – One of the biggest brands with lots of TV spots and reviews, claims to be the original version. I do tend to kind of scrub my face with a washcloth probably harder than I should, but I agree that rough rubbing around the eyes is a no no! What is removed is trapped in the cloth until the properties are changed when soap and agitation is introduced. The greater the surface area, the more grip and friction each wipe will have without you having to push down so hard – instead of 5 large fibres going over a particular area, you get 50 fibres. These really do take off your makeup but you’re right – the eye area requires more attention so I prefer to still use a cleanser (Goodness Break-Up Make-Up Balm at night and Natio Ageless Gentle Cleansing Milk in the morning) first and then wipe off the cleanser using the cloth.It removed almost all my makeup and left a LITTLE tiny bit of mascara on my lashes but nothing too crazy. I tend to wet it with got water and let it steam my face, then use my cleanser of choice, and wipe away the soap with the cloth after a good lather. Gently exfoliates – When used lightly, the cloth acts as a gentler physical exfoliant than scrubs or exfoliating brushes. Odd, as when she’s doing around her eye area she pulls down on her lower eye area a good deal, it appears she’s doing it with A LOT of pressure. Can avoid using make-up removers – If make-up removers and cleansers make you break out or irritate excessively but manual buffing is OK, a make-up remover cloth could be your saviour!

Can overexfoliate – The make-up remover cloth requires a bit of scrubbing, which can irritate your skin if daily physical exfoliation is too much for your skin. I wear waterproof mascara and liquid liner as well as matte liquid lipstick that is made to STAY ON, but this took it off with no problem. Norwex works on everything (including lip stain, but I don’t recommend it) and has an anti-microbial agent in it to keep bacterial growth down between washings. I’ve tried it so many times and it seems like no matter how gentle I am it still hurts my under eyes every single time!For our lab test, we applied waterproof eyeliner, foundation and lipstick onto artificial skin and counted the number of swipes needed to remove the makeup with each product. Although some testers found it hard to remove waterproof mascara, 86% would happily swap this cloth for disposable pads. I read how to use it online and apart from throwing it in the washer the first time to activate fibres it also says to use hot water to wet the cloth.
