Alpha Inmate is a dark love story with a twisted Alpha and a stubborn Omega too smart for her own good. I think the best way to approach it as almost pure Omegaverse erotica; otherwise, nothing makes any sense. However, it is also important to avoid pressuring children to read before they are ready, as this can lead to frustration and resentment toward reading. Nothing would suit them better than to have an outlet for the violence around them, than to have these rough, passionate scene. She’s under the assumption she’ll be working with betas, but ends up with Erik, an alpha serial killer.

Eh, the plot was a whole damn mess, but obviously no one's reading this book for the plot so whatever. Alpha Villain was such an easy, enjoyable read, easily devourable in one sitting and just what I needed to take the edge off of a frustrating day. Inspired by The Silence of the Lambs and Nordic Noir (the cold and snow are almost another character), this Omegaverse features behavior analyst Ellie and Erik, the convicted murderer she's working with. Gerard really doesn’t like her, though—he merely suggested he look the other way while he’s in the office with Ellie, and the guard laughed and walked away as soon as he shut the door. He almost scoffs at her, but he sees the earnestness in her eyes and the eagerness to learn what she can.This is the first book I've read by Liliana Carlisle and I can definitely say I loved every second of it. There was no nest building, no real 'out of mind' experience, again it was glossed over but usually heat is kinda long and crazy and this was just like pretty normal smut (besides the slick and knotting lol). It’s a question that rattles around in her mind as she shampoos her scalp, scrubbing harder than necessary. I know it’s a fantasy story, but that doesn’t mean we need to sacrifice common sense for the sake of drama. While Erik's true motivation is unsurprising and I don't entirely agree with the book's central message, I did like the characters: two broken souls who found solace, empathy, and understanding in each other.
