The other big thing I made note of was that there was a lot of “tell, not show” throughout. There’s a heavy focus on dialogue to progress the story rather than seeing into the boys’ inner thoughts and using other means to find out information. (I’m not one to talk, though, since I also focus more on dialogue than description.) It sometimes made it difficult to fully get into the story. I struggled with developing a picture of what the Belle Estate looked like, or what the other characters (beside SNC, Nate, and Alex) looked like. In terms of the boys, it seemed very reliant on us knowing who Sam and Colby are and what they’re all about (which is fair, since probably 99.9% of people who bought the book are fans of them but, if they want success outside of their audience, it could’ve been more descriptive in that regard). Just then, the driver’s high beams flashed. Seriously? What is this guy’s problem? Sam clenched his fists on the steering wheel.

What are we waiting for? Let’s see Kauai, baby! Colby climbed into the passenger seat, as two older men standing on the curb shot him unamused looks. Colby tended to have this effect on people.

They may not always agree, and they’d had plenty of ups and downs over the years, but these guys were brothers—end of story. No matter who came and went from their lives, through marching band, through the Vine days, through breakups, and now their ghost hunter phase, these were the guys that Sam could always count on since day 1. This trip was as much a celebration of that friendship as anything else. This is the nicer one, she said. Cars get dinged here a lot, especially the closer you get to the North Shore. We had a flood two years ago, pretty much destroyed the roads. She handed him the keys. Be careful." Speaking of being arrested, there was a moment where SNC were contemplating escaping to the beach and they had a conversation if it was worth being arrested again. I really loved that, especially with how much fans joke about them inevitably being arrested again. When they arrived at the car rental center, they watched a beat-up Toyota pull up. Is this supposed to look like this? Sam asked the employee holding a clipboard. Sam cut the engine. They all stepped out, pulling out phones to take photos. Guys, how many bars do you have? Nate asked.

That being said, for SNC’s first book and Gaby’s first time working with the boys, it exceeded my expectations. If they were to continue writing books together, I imagine it will get better and better as they get more used to each other and potentially open up more so that their characters become a more accurate depiction of them. And there is seriously nothing to do here at night, Colby said. No bars, only restaurants that close early. This is our chill spot for nighttime. Daytime in Hawaii is always out.The Airbnb was quaint and cozy yellow with bright green shutters that matched the lush vegetation. Flowers in every color of the rainbow surrounded them, and palm trees stretched into blue skies beginning to clear from the rain. After radically altering their own lives, Sam and Colby wished to educate others on the same life lessons they had learned via their friendship by creating content centered on comedy, authenticity, and exploration. Exploration, particularly in eerie and often mysterious locations, has taken off like wildfire with its audience. They’ve taken millions of fans on adventures into our planet’s lesser-known, seen, and understood regions. While their videos cover a wide spectrum of their experiences, there are many unknown stories, both scary and hilarious, surrounding their stranger encounters. I enjoyed and would definitely recommend giving it a chance. Just give it a chance, open your mind to it.

Since Nate had to leave early in a few days for his sister’s graduation, Sam knew his FOMO was starting to bubble up. Confirmed. Don’t worry, we won’t have any fun without you. It really shows and depicts Sam and Colby’s friendship. Which is my favourite friendship in the existence of friendships, and if you know them you know what I’m talking about. The bond they have is impeccable. Fantastic. It is beautiful beyond words and so rare. HOLY CRAP! This book is amazing! I read it all in one sitting & then had trouble falling asleep after. What way? Aside from throwing coconuts and playing music in the car, they’d hardly done anything disruptive at all. When YouTube ghost hunters Sam and Colby head to Kauai for an annual bro trip with two childhood buddies, they’re dying for a break from paranormal investigations—instead, they find themselves at the center of their most horrifying mystery yet.I don’t care how many bars I have. Sam stared at the little picturesque house in the jungle. This. This was why he worked hard. I didn’t come to Kauai for the internet. Welcome to Hell”

So it’s taken me like what 2 years? I have had this on my shelf with their upcoming videos they do every October “hellweek” it seemed like a perfect read. Even though they haven’t discussed on what happened on their trip on YouTube I really wanna know what happened they could not explain It was a lot for a twenty-two-year-old to soak in, but Sam loved a good existential crisis. He couldn’t help but wonder what it all meant, now that he dealt with paranormal stuff all the time.
