Casio doesn't specify how big the battery is in this smartwatch, but does claim it's fit to run for a month in basic watch mode with none of those lovely Wear OS smarts at your disposal. In smartwatch mode, it's 1.5 days and that's pretty much spot on during the time we had it. It is equipped with functions that are useful for working out, including an optical heart rate sensor, a step-count accelerometer, and sensors that detect orientation, altitude/atmospheric pressure, and temperature. The GPS function can also measure running distance, speed, pace, etc. It also supports the measurement of VO2 max, which measures cardiorespiratory fitness, and can be used as an index for improving endurance when running, etc. A whole range of metrics are available on-screen during runs, including splits, pace and heart rate. The volume of data can sometimes feel overwhelming, but the layout can be rearranged through the companion app and it’s all useful once you know what’s where. After you finish, the results can be dissected on the watch itself – except for the route map, for which you’ll need the app. Battery life

The final piece in the puzzle is the ability to sync this data with third party services, which currently is not possible. That will change soon: Casio is promising to add Strava and Google Fit connectivity in a few weeks – but it needs to be offering more than this. How accurate is it? The challenge of essentially offering two different software approaches is an interesting one and it's been done with mixed results on Wear OS watches. The design is also waterproof to a very impressive 200m. Whilst 50m or 100m is ‘normal’, this kind of waterproofing really means that the watch will likely maintain water resistance at a high-level of impact eg when crashing at wakeboarding. I would have thought WR100 is enough but…WR200 certainly can’t hurt. Full auto-calendar; 12/24-hour format; button operation tone on/off; vibration function; airplane modeThe GBD-H1000 is a significant advancement for the G-SQUAD line and is a useful tool for serious runners and athletes, as well as for those who just want to monitor their everyday health. With its environmental sensors, the watch also has a lot to offer outdoor enthusiasts. The GPS time-syncing feature is also a major selling point for those who want automatic time adjustment, as the watch is able to sync anywhere in the world without a smartphone connection (unlike Multi-Band 6 watches that are limited to the range of the radio transmitters). The GBD-H1000 doesn’t feature a touchscreen, so all interactions are relegated to five physical buttons that encompass the watch. These buttons are quite large and feature tactile grips of their own. It’s unlike anything you’d expect to see on a typical smartwatch and so there’s a definite learning curve to using this layout, but after some time with the device it becomes easy enough to wrap your head around. Optički senzor na poleđini sata meri otkucaje srca sa članka koristeći LED diode. Izmerene vrednosti se prikazuju na satu. The maps are nicely detailed and you can pinch and zoom into areas. When you do that, there's a little bit of a delay as it readjusts the level of information but you're essentially getting a nice Google Maps experience on a watch here.

Tražite telefon? Potrebno je samo da pritisnete dugme na satu i alarm na pametnom telefonu se oglašava From a screen quality point of view, it's a very similar experience to what we found with its ProTrek smartwatches. It's bright, sharp and is nicely visible indoors. In bright outdoor light, it's more problematic and can struggle at some angles even when you crank the screen brightness up. It's also a bit of a fingerprint magnet as well.

Gregory Packs Amber Plus Size 65l review

On the downside, the sensors either take forever to get ready (GPS), are not accurate (heart rate sensor) or redundant for runners (pressure and thermo sensor). The main issue is definitely the inaccuracy of the heart rate sensor since it has an effect on all the other features of the watch, including VO2 max estimate, training status, calories burned etc. The monochrome screen is clear in sunlight, and the standby time with GPS deactivated, in smartwatch mode, is excellent – I could barely make a dent in it. Battery life with GPS on is less stellar but still good enough. Although it’s hard to tell how well solar charging works, as this is not indicated on the watch face, it does top up the battery quite rapidly when left in direct sun. Optical sensor (heart rate monitor); accelerometer (step counter); magnet (digital compass); pressure (altitude/barometric pressure); temperature (thermometer) Casio has never been afraid to throw on plenty of its own software and on this smartwatch it's clearly tried to separate it from the standard Wear software to let you dip into the Google features it can't offer. We'd have almost preferred if it tried to do a better job of merging the two, but maybe keeping things separate was the way to go.

The touchscreen is a 1.2-inch dual-layer display Color TFT LCD and monochrome LCD Color: with a resolution of 360×360 pixels. Legendary Japanese electronics company Casio is loved for its range of innovative and reliable watches. Casio offers both analogue and digital watches for men and women in a variety of styles and colours, perfect for everyday wear, sportswear and more adventurous activities. That’s a relatively LOW resolution for a Wear OS watch but ‘better than normal’ when compared to some Garmin/Suunto outdoor watches eg Fenix 6X: 280 x 280px and Suunto 9 320x300px. Although it should be noted that Suunto’s outdoor Wear OS watch, the Suunto 7, comes in with a higher resolution of 454 x 454px. The resolution of the Casio should be enough to render a decent map and more than enough to deliver some quality to the somewhat quirky & distracting screens you can see in the image below. Need a running watch that's equally as bulky as the Casio GBD-H1000 but maybe a bit more competent? Try the Garmin Enduro for size. The Garmin Enduro is a future-proof GPS multisport watch that has an insanely-long battery life and some trail running-specific features that even non-trail runners will appreciate. Auto/manual lap; auto pause; auto run timing start; target alarm setting (time, altitude, calories burned); training display customization
