Description

In addition to its signature caramel candy, the company also makes a different style of its classic caramel candy, Cow Tales. Goetze's Cow Tales were originally launched in the year 1984. [3] Cow Tales are similar to the Caramel Creams, but in the form of a long, thin cylinder of soft caramel with a cream center. [4] Cow Tales are also produced in Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Caramel Apple flavors. In addition, the company offers Mini Cow Tales, a bite-sized version of Vanilla Cow Tales, Goetze's number-one selling 25-cent item. [5] Playing off the name of the Bull’s Eye candy, Cow Tales were made in the form of long, thin cylinders. These are essentially the same candies as the Bull’s Eye candies but made in a different form. There were various flavors of Cow Tales that were made over time as well. Eventually, the product would be sold in Vanilla, Chocolate, Caramel Brownie, Strawberry, and Caramel Apple. There were some other flavors that were brought to market that did not last, like peanut butter and banana. a b "Caramel Creams Vanilla". CandyFavorites.com (Selavy Ltd.). The company has always tried hard to make sure that this recipe is healthy and Cow Tales are not made with high fat or fake ingredients. Most of the products in the recipe are instantly recognizable food items which can be really nice for those who are trying to watch what they eat and avoid fake and processed foods. Goetze's Candy is a confectionery company located in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1895 as the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company, Goetze's is celebrating more than 120 years of making sweet treats in the USA. These Caramel Brownie Cow Tales are truly delicious, chewy caramel brownie with a chocolate cream centre, the taste of a decadent brownie just out of the oven. There have been a few unique flavors that have been produced and have continued to be sold in some markets. The Oreo variety is still being sold and is a lot of fun. The brownie variety is also very good and is not sold everywhere. Some of the ill-fated varieties like the banana version of this candy might still be found in some markets, but that would only be the old product that did not get pulled off shelves successfully when it was first removed from the lineup of Cow Tales products. WHEATflour, Glucose Syrup, Sugar, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Vegetable Oils (Coconut, Palm), Dextrose, Cocoa Powder, Modified Whey (from MILK), Skimmed MILK, Cream (from MILK), Emulsifiers (E471, SOYALecithin), Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Flavourings, Salt, Corn Starch. Original Caramel Cow Tales were introduced by Goetze's Candy Company in 1984. They are made from the same secret family recipe used to make Goetze's Caramel Creams® (a.k.a. "Bulls-Eyes"). Cow Tales were named in correlation with "Bulls-Eyes," maintaining the cow theme used to promote Goetze's dedication to making caramel with quality ingredients, including real milk.

In the 1940's, Goetze's Candy discontinued its chewing gum and dedicated manufacturing to caramel products. Today, Goetze's Candy Company makes two brands of chewy caramel: Caramel Creams®and Cow Tales®. Over the years, the company experimented with several flavors, such as peanut butter and banana. As of 2009 [update], the Caramel Creams lineup included "Original" (Vanilla), Chocolate, Strawberry, and Caramel Apple flavors. [6] These Caramel Cow Tales are truly delicious, chewy vanilla caramel with a sweet cream centre, the original and best Cow Tale flavour. The balance of the softness and chewiness is really nice, and if you dislike caramels because of the texture, you might fall in love with this product. There is really no other caramel product on the market like it, and the texture is one of the key differences between the Cow Tale and the regular caramel products that are sold by other makers. Even Bull’s Eye product is not soft and chewy like this caramel product. The Bull’s Eye does have the same cream filling in the center, but the smaller size of the candies makes them less soft and fluffy than the Cow Tale.

According to the manufacturer, Goetze's caramels have always been made with a low fat, low sodium, no cholesterol recipe and are made with wheat flour, dairy milk and cream ingredients. To keep the name from being taken literally, Goetze's used "Tales" instead of "Tails," and added the image of a cow jumping over the moon, an allusion to the "Hey Diddle Diddle" nursery rhyme.
