About this deal

One of the game's most exciting aspects is the presence of hidden easter eggs that add an element of fun to the game. Players can find words written throughout the game's safe houses and maps that trigger various actions when said out loud. However, be prepared to scream as these actions can be quite scary.

It's format can get jumbled at times as it is made up of not only case studies but formatted at times as interview/Q&A sessions by the author, so it can be confusing when determining who is speaking; the author or Ed or Lorraine Warren. Most demons cannot remain in the physical world for long without some form of sustenance or maintenance. The initial sacrifice can provide this, but it is the bargaining which provides the greatest opportunity for the demon to get what it needs. The initial bargaining is the most dangerous part of the summoning – the demonologist needs to make it clear to the demon that they can provide more than what they themselves are worth to it. difficult for our Western minds to dismiss the materialist/naturalistic worldview that prevents our grasping such a spiritual reality; thus, giving only mental accent or lip service to the invisible war that surrounds us. God’s mercy apparently extends quite far for many, and, for that, I am thankful.

What I got was a book written by a fawning, gullible, pandering groupie whose primary objective is to swallow every lie fed to him by Ed Warren. There is zero critical insight in this book; no ability or even desire to discover truth. The point made over and over and over again is that people, either through ignorance or sinister intent, are responsible for a demonical presence "crossing over" into our world. The soul is the part of God that inhabits humankind, and that is why it is so important for demons (who hate both God and humans) to corrupt and possess it. Once I read what could happen when this crossing occurred, it didn't become a matter of believing it or not. It was more simply, "Why take the chance?"Milton’s Paradise Lost; the Bible (especially, Genesis); crafting characters that connect with readers; creating intricate plots; mapping David’s journey (Venice, New York, the Muskoka region, etc.); realistic dialogue; good vs. evil; faith and belief; good to compare to Lord of the Flies using theme of where evil comes from.

After completing the optional objectives, the exorcism is completed by burning the scrolls within the fire. Pressing E on the fire with the scrolls in hand with burn them. Once this is completed, the exorcism will be finished. It took me two nights/early mornings to read The Demonologist, and that’s only because pesky work got into the way. This story successfully injects a new plot with elements of a (centuries-) old story. In fact, as someone who only read Milton’s Paradise Lost to pass a university exam (and then promptly forgot everything afterwards), I would say that in shedding light on some of the poem’s more obfuscating—and arguably beautiful—passages, Pyper has managed to make me interested in re-reading Milton. As a teacher myself, David’s life interests me, and I really enjoyed Pyper’s decision to have his protagonist’s profession inform the course of the story. A mysterious and very tempting offer, a trip to a city teeming with history, an enviable father-daughter relationship, and anyone’s greatest nightmare of losing the one you love … What more could I have asked for in a plot? (The ending is just delicious, by the way.)

While the cases that the book does cover are quite interesting and I didn't know about some of them. However, the cases that the book covers, indeed are captivating, so I have no real complains and I enjoyed a lot the reading (and yes, it got real spooky at several moments!). David is a man at odds with life, his faith, his own self. He has molded his entire life around belief, but on the sidelines as an academic turned professor. He doesn’t believe himself and it’s not until the loss of his daughter that makes him question everything. After the war, the Warrens had to figure out how to make a living. "Each of us had skills as landscape artists, and we each harbored a desire to paint," Lorraine said. Ed had taken art classes, so, she said, "we began our marriage under the assumption that we were going to be artists."
