Since it arrived we have been constantly refreezing it to make more slushies and I would highly recommend Chill Factor’s patented handheld squeezable cup which has a dedicated spot in the freezer so that it is ready and waiting for when the urge to have a cooling slush hits one of us.
There are no crazy frills or gimmicks with the Zoku cup and that is probably why it is so highly rated. I live in Kent with my teenage sweetheart husband Dave, our 7-year-old daughter Autumn and 2-year-old son Reuben. Ellie is desperate to try a fizzy drink whereas i’m a little bit more excited to give it a try with a little bit of something alcoholic inside too!Any old blender will do — just add ice cubes to your normal cocktail recipe and blend to a slushy consistency. I was worried that mess would be an issue and that it would be difficult to clean, but that hasn’t been the case. It’s recommended to use a chilled liquid when using the Slushy, i’m guessing that makes it react quicker to the frozen inner cup.
As well as being able to make a slushy using fruit juice you can use any drink to make a slushy as long as it has been chilled in the refrigerator, room temperature drinks won’t work so I would suggest popping your selected drink into the fridge at the same time as you put the cup in the freezer. A good solid blender to crush ice (or even a good rolling pin and a dishtowel) plus the cordial would work just as well. After freezing the cup overnight I filled it with chilled orange juice and after screwing the lid on I started squeezing the cup….For the frosè, we used user Julie Hubert's Watermelon Frose recipe and did everything except freeze the rosè into ice cubes.
