About this deal

Their sunscreens are mineral – zinc oxide and titanium dioxide based – and they have been dermatologist tested and dermatologist recommended for many years. This, coupled with the colour changing bottle to remind you to wear/reapply your sunscreen is just perfect!

You can forget you’re wearing it: This formula is easy to apply, blends well, and has a nongreasy, dry finish that is translucent and truly feels light as air. I have been on the hunt for a water resistant physical/mineral sunscreen with zinc oxide and this seemed to fit the bill. But the trade-off is that those larger particles cannot penetrate the skin (there is no published evidence that nanoparticles of zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are harmful, except, possibly, when inhaled). As a result, please note this is only an experimental label that can be best used to possible identify problematic products you have used in the past.As for skincare, cocoa butter counts as a rich emollient that can moisturize and nourish even the driest skin (think chapped hands or lips). Naturally, having waited so long to try it, I had to know if it was the best sunscreen in the market! Mineral sunscreen, no chemical active ingredients, protects your skin by acting like thousands of tiny mirrors that reflect UV rays away before they enter your body. Darker-skinned people can absolutely get skin cancer as well as other skin problems caused by UV ray damage.

Though it can feel greasy and leave behind a white cast, it’s less visible than most physical sunscreens. Chemical sunscreens absorb the photons of the sun’s rays before they reach your skin; the photons’ energy goes into breaking down those chemicals rather than into penetrating your skin.Having used EltaMD sunscreens before, I was hoping that the UV Daily Broad Spectrum SPF 40 would be another must-have mineral SPF from the brand, but this one needs a little tweaking.

The brand nailed the weightless part, but Ultra Sheer is not sheer enough for my skin; the white cast I had was incredibly noticeable.A cream that’s just thick enough is easier to apply since it won’t run but also doesn’t require a ton of rubbing. The problem with the thick, white texture is that there is a great temptation to use just enough product (just a dab, in fact) to rub into your skin, hoping the colour settles after a while.

While iHerb strives to ensure the accuracy of its product images and information, some manufacturing changes to packaging and/or ingredients may be pending update on our site. This formula only comes in a single size—a giant 32-ounce pump bottle that is not tote bag friendly. The first main difference is that while TiO2 gives a nice broad spectrum protection, Zinc Oxide has an even nicer and even broader spectrum protection.
