My thought when I read your testimonial is that cranking the mids with the SLO might give the same kind of relative difference between bass and mids than flat settings with the Friedman or Recto sim with their selective dips in the bass. You have to dial at band volumes if you are going to use it with a band and you want it to sound it's best.

The patch shared below was designed to give unity gain when the (physical) volume knob of the unit is full up. They have that classic modeling thing going on where it sounds like there's a blanket over your cab. The amp only gets slightly warm (just above ambient) playing bass at a decent home volume, into 8 ohm PA speakers. An effects loop allows you to integrate your favorite effects pedals into your signal chain with ease and choose their position in the sound chain. A true USB sound interface, the MG30 also allows you to record yourself, stream and even be able to re-amp your recordings.

I haven't had an MG30 in a while, but I think I remember that some patches were meant to be used with an amp and didn't have them. I've read somewhere that Nux has modeled the output transformer for the VIVO model and they might have overdone it. You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.

PIC 5 shows what the crude resonant peak of a guitar pickup becomes through the MG-30, all FX's disabled, when other output modes are selected: COMBO FRONT, STACK FRONT, COMBO REAR, STACK REAR. I'd have more chance of piloting the Space Shuttle blindfolded judging by the options available on the Stomp! Otherwise, of the two options you're listed, I'd say the L6 has much better effects than the Nux and the support from the manufacturer is outstanding in terms of updates and aftercare. Better headphones can help a little, but making presets with headphones with the target to use them in a live band context is hopeless. After 1 week using it I am so excited bout this unit already and still I feel like I only scratched the surface of what this thing can do. I hope the market gives the 30 a fair shake, but it seems NUX is still only able to ship limited numbers. I got held up for a long time and then time was even added on to the date they gave me but I finally got it and I really liked The sound but they had sent me a unit that was supposed to stay on the Chinese mainland, all the commands were foreign to me and there was no changing language. The default settings are not over the top, no harsh digital highs or unrealistic bass, for that you'd need to add an EQ in the chain or use some more boosted cab IR.

The unit only has capacity for one external switch and if you plug your favourite expression pedal in, you won't be able to use the extra 2 button footswitch they provide, which is pretty much a must if you're going to gig this thing. Not to say that it doesn't work perfectly to get someone else's sound, it just wasn't subtle enough for me, much like the actual Dynacomp. You can get closer if you use some previous reference presets, if you make your presets mono (with headphones, too) and if you use backing tracks, but anyway at the end you may want to consider to handle two separate set of presets: one for headphones (with glorious stereo, bassy and ultra-distorted sounds) and one for band context (monoaural, less gainy, with a lot of mids, etc.Knowing this, NUX focused on 30 classic essentials, and made each and every one live up to the standards of the most demanding players. these frequencies are not those mentioned under the sliders on the screen: bass freq are centered on 100hz and not 80hz.

There is also a very clear tuner integrated which lights up so even on a dark stage you can easily tune your guitar. Therefore, it might be interesting to tweak the bassrange with a preEQ between guitar and SLO model (which would involve once again the para EQ). No flat frequency response from the MG30 for the moment, even if all effects disabled and all EQ controls at noon. I'm sorry for blanking out effects, I was relying on my memory from pre-scenes upgrade behavior, (or maybe I'm thinking MG-300 behavior.I've tried to reproduce your ParaEQ as good as I could and did try it not with an amp but just using the amp models and into my FRFR monitors. another very important point in my experience: you will always need your own monitor both on stage and in the rehearsal room; using the PA together with the singer (and sharing the speaker with him/her/them) generally means that you both will be dissatisfied because you both can't hear yourselves; in case in the reahearsal room you can use also a little the PA just to help your bandmates to hear you if your monitor isn't powerful enough or if it is placed in an unfavourable position. I know that these units are supposed to be controlled using the NUX software, but I run Linux, so I would prefer to make adjustments using the interface on the actual unit.
