Mayflash’s adapter was first introduced in 2015 for Wii U and remains one of the most popular third-party GameCube adapters today. It has a more box-like design that may be more appealing to some. The Mayflash adapter has four GameCube controller inputs and works with Switch, Wii U, PC, and Mac. The plug-and-play design means that you don’t need a driver to play games on any platform (a driver is required for vibration on PC, though). Like the Pdobq adapter, you can plug two adapters into your Switch for eight-player local multiplayer. The Mayflash has the same features as the Pdobq adapter, so the decision here is largely a matter of aesthetics.

Switching between wired controllers and this dongle to test latency, any input lag that does exist wasn't noticeable. We were playing over HDMI, which will obviously introduce its own latency versus connection to a CRT screen, but we were impressed at how responsive everything felt. If you’re using Joy-Con controllers, your PC will see each controller as a separate device. This is fine if you want to play some retro games in 2-player mode on your PC, but modern games aren’t going to work at all. One option is to manually map controls in the game to each individual Joy-Con, but most titles won’t support this. For PC System: This adapter is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7,Windows 8,32 bit and 64 bit and Mac under the PC mode. If you want to play games on PC, please turn the shift button to "PC''. Supports the GC/Wii Emulator Dolphin. If Steam doesn't open automatically into Big Picture when you connect the Pro Controller, open Steam and enter the Settings menu.

The Nintendo Switch family of systems supports multiplayer gaming options of all kinds. You can play together online or in the same room using one system or multiple systems*. But I was not going to let that stop me from playing classic N64 games on my Switch using the controller they were intended for. Though its unconventional design has long divided opinion, the original controller is for me the only way to play these games. That preference is informed both by '90s kid nostalgia and how unnatural it feels playing these titles on any other controller. Specific features vary by game, such as voice chat or split-screen play, but sharing fun with friends and family is a key focus for Nintendo Switch. That being said, I have only used this adapter to play Gamecube and Wii games on my PC using the Dolphin emulator, and it works almost flawlessly. The adapter is a Plug 'n Play device, meaning you only have to plug in the two USB connectors into your PC, and the adapter will install itself onto your computer within seconds. This is an ingenious solution on Nintendo’s part, but it doesn’t always work for everyone. The good news is that you can access the data more directly from the SD card. Use an SD Card Reader

While used with a Nintendo Switch console, the GameCube controller is recognised as a standard USB controller.

In our time with it, the NSO pad, the Switch Pro Controller, and our 8bitdo FC30 all functioned almost without issue. We experienced one mysterious dropped connection mid-race as we were hurtling down the side of Grass Valley in Snowboard Kids — obviously less than ideal, but it was a one-off occurrence and we didn't have any connection issues beyond that. All in all, 8BitDo’s DIY Mod Kit for the N64 controller is a superb alternative if you are unable to get your hands on the official product or if you already have a faulty N64 controller within reach. The sheer satisfaction of dissembling and restoring an old piece of tech is also not be underestimated. Doing so made me appreciate how a controller is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

When it comes to sprucing up your retro consoles with a mod-con or two, there is no shortage of options. From new shells to upscalers and converters, RGB mods to devices that emulate OG disc drives, old video game systems are being upgraded and refurbished like vintage cars these days, giving them a new lease on life and keeping our treasured childhood systems alive and well some 20, 30, even 40 years after they were first designed and released. Integrating old consoles into modern living room ecosystems can be a challenge, though, and that's where little devices like BlueRetro's N64 Adapter come in handy. If you just want a big screen to connect your Switch to, but want the portability of a laptop, then another option is to use a portable monitor. These can run off USB power, have built-in speakers, and have HDMI input ports. You can use the USB-C cable bundled with the Switch Pro Controller. There is a switch that allows selection of PC or WII U (Wii U is the one to choose for use with the Switch). The instructions included are decent and detail that the adapter works with the Dolphin emulator on PC but I haven't tried that yet. Overall there isn't much more to say, the adapter is small, cheap and works with the multiplayer titles I've tried. The cable connecting to the switch could be a little longer but that is a very minor gripe.Controller vibration is only available for the GameCube controller in supported software, for example Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Holding the end product in hand simply felt wonderful. The controller synched to my Switch seamlessly and is actually recognised as an N64 controller, as if it were an official NSO one. All the UI quirks and button configurations work as they should. Latency and battery life are on par with the official pad — around 8 hours — with the only downside being that buttons can’t be remapped on Switch (unless you do so at a system level). Gbros. uses two AA batteries that give you about 30 hours of gameplay before needing to insert new ones. One of the most desirable features of the Gbros. adapter is its screenshot button. It might not matter if you don’t take screenshots during gameplay, but it’s a nice feature to have when you consider that using a GameCube controller or other adapters won’t allow you to capture screenshots. As you can tell from the various workarounds, there isn’t a true way to connect Nintendo Switch consoles to a PC that lets the devices operate. At best, you can make your PC act as a glorified TV, but if your main goal is to capture game footage, then that’s exactly what you want to do!

If you want to upgrade to a larger SD card, you can use your PC to copy the contents over, and it will work without issue. Play The PC Version of the Switch Game Instead If you want to copy all of your content to your PC from your Switch, you can simply remove the SD card from its slot and use a USB SD card adapter or integrated SD card slot to view the card’s contents. You may be trying to connect your Joy-Cons or Pro Controller to your PC rather than your entire Switch. While you’re better off using an Xbox controller or even a Playstation controller with PC games, if all you have is a Nintendo controller (or you’re emulating Nintendo titles), they are easy to hook up to your computer. When you have the best iPhone, you pretty much have infinite possibilities for keepingbusy and entertained, no matter where you are. Sure, the iPhone may not be marketed as a gaming phone specifically, but it's pretty powerful — especially with the A17 Pro in the latest iPhone 15 Pro. That new processor means the Apple mobile gaming experience is only getting better and better, with Apple's new chip being able to play console-level games like Assassin's Creed Mirage and the Resident Evil 4 remake. The second time I used the adapter it didn't appear to be working , I only had one controller plugged in. I discovered that the Gamecube controller needs to be in a specific port to operate ( try the port at each end if it doesn't work, I think the one on the right of the adapter is the one to be used first). If you are plugging four controllers in this won't be an issue. While those games aren't available yet, there's no shortage of great games to play. But when the App Store has over a million apps, how are you supposed to find the best games to play? Don't worry -- we're here to help! Since there are a ton of games out there — and not every game is a winner — it's definitely hard to find games that are worth your time and energy. Whether you're looking for a simple match 3, an MMORPG, a dungeon crawler, or even something to just relax with, here are the best iPhone games you can play right now.
