The Robin SV021 is not V-Shaped at all, so that is a good thing. It is a mellow setup, one that is not overly distant and not overly forward and in-your-face sounding. This physicality factor is great for live recordings, and again, great for media usage via Podcasts and Gaming, which is a topic I’ll get into in just a moment. Timbre That said, they do scale up well with a quality DAC/Amp combo like the Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt. Sivga SV021 Robin Vs vs Soundmagic HP 1000 (150 USD vs 300 USD) – I like the thing Soundmagic has been doing with their headphones, but comparing the two feels slightly unfair to me, as HP1000 is much more expensive, and also goes for a widely different sonic presentation. The comfort is better on SV021, which is lighter, has deeper and softer earcups, and has less of a hotspot at the top of the head. The construction quality is better on HP1000, but it results in a higher weight. Both have slightly proprietary cables. Neither doesn’t come with balanced cables from the factory. The sonic signature is bright, brilliant, clean, detailed, wide and neutral. By comparison, SV021 sounds dark, but deeper, with more bass quantity, a deeper bass, a more dynamic sound, and with less focus on treble and a much more recessed midrange. I think the SV021 hits the sweet spot between impact and constraint when it comes to mid-bass. It’s not an overpowering or dominating bass but it’s got enough presence to provide rhythm and warmth. It’s a reasonably fast bass that doesn’t get bogged down or congested during busy music.

Sivga sv021 Review • Audiostance

M50x is tighter, faster and brighter sounding than the Sivga Robin. In terms of tonality, Bass has lesser bloom and quantity than Robin (but is tighter more aggressive), midrange is slightly more forward, lower midrange isn't as full, upper midrange is brighter, and treble is sharper, harsher than Sivga Robin. In terms of technicalities, soundstage is smaller and more intimate, instrument separation is more compressed, and imaging is more "in your head". Timbre isn't as natural. Damage due to user negligence, accidents, disassembly, waterlog, misuse, abuse, alterations or vandalism. Any item returned incomplete or with physical damage such as scratches etc., excessive signs of use, or abuse will not be accepted for return. Vocals are more upfront and have more body on the DT990 Pro. This gives male and female vocals more note density in addition to slightly stronger placement compared to the Sivga’s spacious, airy style. Robin has a 10dB bass boost, recessed lower-midrange, an upper-midrange forwardness of around 8dB ear gain and a brighter, sparklier and zingier lower-treble and upper-treble character. Robin's signature's main focus is on bass punch and treble sparkle than lower-midrange body fullness. It has a leaner, open and airy presentation with instrument tonality that sounds like you're listening to a live concert in an arena than an accurate and natural sounding studio. Compared to a reference target curve, the Harman 2018 AE OE target, it has more sub-bass, significantly more mid-bass and upper-bass in the 60-250Hz range, a dip in lower-midrange around 500Hz, less ear gain (upper-midrange forwardness) in the 2-5kHz and brighter lower-treble and upper-treble by around 5-8dB.

Midrange – Robin has a recessed lower-midrange because of a wide band 4-5dB dip around 500Hz. As a result, it has a leaner presentation but doesn't tend too lean as the bass boost adds lots of weight to the signature. What I also hear this dip doing is pushing snares deeper into the soundstage and increasing perception of depth as a result. Robin does have a forward upper-midrange presentation but lesser ear gain than the Harman Target. As a result, guitars and orchestral instruments have a little less forwardness and presence as they do in Sennheiser HD650/HD6XX (which have as much ear gain as the Harman Target), but do not sound recessed as such. In fact, the overall signature actually presents guitars, drum shells (particularly snares) and even vocals in a very vibrant manner without any shout or peakiness. InternalsThe Robin are powered by a pair of 50mm dynamic drivers. Sivga designed the dynamic driver in-house with an ultra-thin diaphragm made of polycarbonate (PC) and fiber.

SIVGA SV021 | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Inside the box are the headphones, detachable cable, a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter and a fabric carrying pouch. It would have been nice to see some kind of actual carrying case but the omission of one is how Sivga has kept the price of the headphones down. Design The Robin SV021 has a low impedance of 32 ohms, making the headphone easy to drive. Even a smartphone can drive the headphone. But with any wired headphones or earphones, I would (still) prefer to use a good DAC with AMP for optimal or best result. Stage, etc: The Sivga robin has a nice wide soundstage. there is very good separation and accuracy, this makes it great for movies or games. Visually, these are eye candy. After all, these were my first impressions before I even had them in hand. Something I’d like to clear up straight away is that the design differs between the two available colors. The materials are exactly the same, the silhouette is exactly the same, but the finish of the wood differs (besides the obvious pleather color difference). The headphone pads are the softest and most comfortable pads I have ever come across on a set of headphones. They really are soft and squidgy, to the point where I keep getting people to feel them. This means that the seal is good, even without any cup swivel, but it also means that comfort is excellent. Even straight out of the box, putting these on my head felt like I had been wearing them forever, in a good way! It’s like an old pair of slippers that are just perfect. So, what makes the Robin SV021 a good buy in today’s intense market for excellent budget to mid-tier headphones? Well, we are going to find out today! That’s for sure! I have said many times that I am not someone who enjoys overly present bass, nor extra warm sound signatures, and these are basically everything that I would say I don’t enjoy, but I do. The difference between my portable rig here and my desktop Burson Conductor 3 rig is inaudible. I believe I’ve maxed out the quality potential with the XRT amplifier here. Gaming
