Description

This can be read as a stand-alone but the characters will gain a greater richness if the books are read in sequence."> The DCI Ryan novels begin with ‘Holy Island’. Holy Island is an actual place. They call it Lindisfarne. Located in North East England, the island is rich with history and tourists from all over the world visit it with the intention of exploring that history. Holy Island Detective Chief Inspector Ryan retreats to Holy Island believing that he will enjoy some peace. The Sabbatical leave wasn’t his choice but he is willing to embrace the peace. However, complications arise when remains are found amongst ancient ruins.

When a 10-year-old girl turns up on DCI Ryan's doorstep to tell him she's witnessed a murder, he has no idea he's about to step into his most spellbinding case yet. The circus has rolled into Newcastle upon Tyne, bringing with it a troupe of daring acrobats, magicians and jugglers - and one of them is a killer. My big question is when will your new books be out Be it the Ryan or the Alex Gregory books all are fantastic.. A little disappointed, having read the pervious number of books only to find that in the book Longstone Ryan is married,I've missed this cast of characters. The identity of the murderer was a bit predictable, but I really enjoyed the reading experience. The developments between the couples were sweet, but that cliffhanger was really uncool. The first book in the DCI Ryan Mystery series finds DCI Ryan on an island of only 200 people one of whom is a killer. DCI Ryan is a strong silent man who draws the interest of Doctor Anna Taylor. The pair concludes that someone on the island is practicing old and dangerous religious rites, the kind that might threaten the local populace. Just finished The Shrine recommended to me by local library. Really enjoyed the story and it’s characters. Wish I’d started from the 1st book, but will continue with the one after this. I have read all Shetland books, but have enjoyed DCI Ryan equally, perhaps even more. I just wanted to echo a message earlier, this definitely should be made into a TV drama, I’ve read them all twice 🙂 Reply

Apologies – my previous comment about the infirmary was in response to a message from Sue Pull from 1yr ago. Reply Louise was born in Northumberland, England. She studied undergraduate and postgraduate Law at King's College, University of London and studied abroad in Paris and Florence. She spent much of her working life in London, where she was a regulatory lawyer for a number of years until taking the decision to change career and pursue her dream to write. Now, she writes full time and lives with her husband and son in Bath. She enjoys reading all manner of books, travelling and spending time with family and friends. Ryan is drawn into the case, though he isn’t alone. Doctor Anna Taylor is a police consultant with roots on Holy Island. As she struggles to overcome her old memories, Ryan and Anna work together to catch a killer. Kokio grožio viršelis 😍 Neįmanoma nepastebėti Ross knygų viršelių, nes jie visi man gražūs, bet šis ypatingai 🥰

The Moor (DCI Ryan Mysteries, book 12) by LJ Ross

Still not sure about this one. I have loved all the books in the series so far. all easily 5 star occasional 4.5. But this one is 3.5 rounded to 4, on the basis I am not 100% what is wrong. Could be I am heading for a reading slump, but I struggled to get involved. Never really looked forward to reading some more. Another great book with Chief Detective Maxwell Ryan, his colleagues Phillips, Denise and Lowerson. In this one there was 2 stories that were both interesting and mysteries. Lots of murders going on. It soon becomes evident that a body found in 2011 was indeed that of her mother and the police investigation becomes Operation Showstopper. The name ‘DCI Ryan’ refers to a crime fiction series of novels written by L.J. Ross. The books follow the exploits of DCI Ryan. LJ Ross is an internationally bestselling author, whose books have sold over 7 million copies worldwide.Have thoroughly enjoyed all the L J Ross books so far published. I would point out, to those reading the above blurb, that, although the DCI Ryan books are mainly set in Northumberland, some of his cases bring him as far south as Durham City and Teesdale. Reply Could these books possibly be made into a television series. The locations are fantastic and the leading characters both strong and have good storylines. I loved the setting of the circus in the novel. This is one of your more old fashioned circuses rather than your modern day ones. Even so, I can’t say I really envy life in one, with the constant travelling. Whilst the people in the circus tend to be close knit, there seems to be a lot of animosity around in this one. Wonderfully descriptive of Northumberland and researched so that you can visualise every scene . Thank you LJRoss Reply
